Drink & Draw Figure Drawing Session

Drink & Draw Figure Drawing session on Sunday, October 23rd from 2p until 5p at 4659 N. Ravenswood.


This will be a non-instructed Figure Drawing session in the Ravenswood neighborhood at an artist studio.

This session is limited to the first 8 participants who sign up; participation fee is $20 per person. Bring drawing materials and supports.

Beer, wine, light snacks and an experienced, professional model will be provided. I will be the model for this event (AmeenaPayne.com). Please keep in mind that photography will not be allowed. Sign up by sending an email to Ameena@AmeenaPayne.com.

Kayoua Xiong

I recently worked with photographer, Kayoua Xiong in Chicago for her upcoming Fine Art Gallery Show.

She was absolutely wonderful to work with and had a great studio space in the Kinzie Industrial area; for those who don't know, I am really fascinated by industrial areas, although the Kinzie area is more of a commercial/business park - there is something I find...almost beautiful in the steel, grit & decay...

There is something about nature that really calms me. I know that my upbringing plays a huge role in it. I really hadn't been immersed much in nature this summer, aside from spending 10 days in San Francisco.
Being in the Dunes made me feel extremely alive & really calmed my mind and soul as well. I am truly happiest when I'm in the sun and water.

I watched the beautiful sunset and just felt rejuvenated after spending time here.

San Francisco Workshop

While in San Francisco, I was hired for a photography workshop - on my birthday. Although it fell on my 22nd, I still agreed to take the Cal Train from SF to Santa Clara, and shoot. I am so happy I did. I very much enjoyed working with the photographers that attended and Rafa. Below are some images from one photographer. Honestly, these are some of my favorite figure images.
Creating shapes and contrasting with other objects is just so beautiful to me. I almost wish I could photograph others because I am always just bursting with ideas.
